The past few weeks have been crammed to the gills. No down time what-so-over. It’s now just a bit past 11 o’clock at night and I finally get to get a few hours of sleep before I head off on the plane for Alaska with a day stopover in Seattle. Every year July is a crazy month for me. Big production time for the retail shops that carry my work as well as preparation for the Blueberry Festival in Ketchikan. It has been the only festival that I have done for years. I stay with my friends Ray and Michelle Troll up on the hill looking down over Ketchikan and now my best friend, since 2nd grade, flies down from Juneau to help me with my booth. Always my mom is there too! Almost guaranteed to be sunny in Ketchikan during that one Saturday of the year. Most likely I will have lost my voice by the end of the day and will be a total zombie. I can always manage a second wind to go out at the end of the day with all of my long time friends for lots of laughs and dancing. It’s an epic amount of work but I so look forward to the Blueberry Festival every year.
